I am currently working in Naples, where the official language is Italian, yet the Neapolitan is spoken and understood by all. Everyone talks Neapolitan always, in fact it is the true language of the city. On the radio, the songs are in Neapolitan. People talk the Neapolitan, because the Neapolitan is a language of the Italian peninsula.In Malta the situation is different. two centuries of British rule have endangered the Maltese language.
