WSF 2013: march to El Menzeh Sports City, Tunis.
Thousands of alterglobalists started marching at 4pm from the January 14 Square, downtown Tunis, to mark the official opening of the 12th World Social Forum "WSF 2013."

Several international figures are participating in the march, particularly Nobel peace prize recipients and civil society activists representing 135 countries.
Marchers will walk up the Mohamed V Avenue past Place Pasteur to reach the esplanade of the El Menzah Sports City where an official ceremony and a grand concert are scheduled.
Demonstrators chanted slogans calling for the right to employment, freedom, dignity and solidarity with liberation movements the world over.
In a festive atmosphere, flags of participating countries as well as banners bearing messages in different languages were waved.
Balloons carrying the names of attending capitals were released high in the sky of Tunis.
Tight security, deployed as of Tuesday morning in the Habib Bourguiba Avenue and thoroughfares, has helped supervise the march since its start downtown Tunis where traffic has been prohibited since 2pm.
