Vivendi wants $ 7.13 billion for its 53% share of Maroc Telecom

: The French Vivendi Holding, following a restructuring plan, intends to separate its telecom activities, by selling its shares in Maroc Telecom and a telecom operator in Brazil.
Vivendi wants $ 7.13 billion for its 53% share of Maroc Telecom
The French group will have to sell its 53% share of the control of the incumbent national operator,Maroc Telecom,
for a figure of 5.5 billion euros, (7.13 billion U.S. dollars.)
 
According to the Middle Eastern Arabian Business magazine, the French offer whets the appetite of the Qatari Q.Tel operator, whose president, Nasser Marafih said his group is very interested in this sale offer  which according to him, matches its ambition to expand its investments in MENA, Africa and Asia and to enjoy, Maroc
telecom's extensive network in several sub-Saharan countries.
 
 October 24 was declared the deadline for  Vivendi to  receive expressions of interest for its share capital majorities in Morocco Telecom, from four international operators; QTel the UAE's Etisalat, Saudi Telecom and South Africa's MTN.
 
Vivendi intends to conclude the deal before the end of the first quarter of 2013.
