US-Middle East Partnership Initiative, important contribution to fostering Moroccan-American relations
Rabat - The US-Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) is an important contribution to fostering the Moroccan-American relations, said, on Tuesday in Rabat, Acting MEPI Regional Office director Stephen Ibelli.

"The US-Middle East Partnership Initiative plays an important role in this regard," Ibelli told MAP on the sidelines of a meeting on the MEPI subsidies program for civil society.
Speaking on this occasion, Ibelli underlined the importance of this program as a mechanism offering training and support for groups and individuals willing to promote social conditions and move towards a more mature society.
Concerning Morocco, the official said that the MEPI is funding every year between 6 to 15 projects submitted by civil society associations for an amount of nearly one million dollars.
"We believe in the capacity and contribution of these associations to promote the countries through assisting underprivileged social segments", he added.
