According to two polls published Friday, the President's televised speech was not enough to reassure the French. On the contrary, a majority of them even believe that his five years is already doomed, Le Figaro reports.
Two thirds of French people unconvinced by François Hollande
Francois Hollande's speech on Thursday night on France 2, watched by nearly 8 million viewers on average, was heavily criticised by commentators and politicians alike.  A BVA poll for iTV, released Friday, shows that indeed two-thirds of French people who have seen or heard the interview on Thursday evening did not find the president convincing. To the question, "Overall, how did you find François Hollande?" 66% of respondents answered "not convincing", 31% "convincing", and 3% did not know.

Hollande announced that companies would bare the burden of a 75% tax on salaries over one million euros which is a re-packaged version of a tax on individual tax payers that was struck down by France's constitutional court in December. The tax, which follows through on one of his key election pledges, is supported by a majority of the French, but Hollande’s failure to push it through has left many frustrated.

Another survey Mediaprism for the site Atlantico released  on Friday, says that 60% of respondents did not found the head of state convincing, even though 63% believe he has addressed the issues of concern. According to the same survey, 66% of those surveyed believe that, judging by the beginning of his term, François Hollande is a "bad" president. 70% do not trust him to straighten France's economic situation  and 56% believe that his presidency is already doomed.
