Tunisian Opposition Parties to Forge Alliance
The opposition parties Nidaa Tounes, Al Massar, and Al Joumhouri officially announced a new political alliance today following longstanding discussions between the three parties.

Ridha Belhaj the official spokesperson for Nidaa Tounes said that the three opposition party jointly signed the statement in which they agreed on forming a united political and electoral front under the banner of the "Alliance for Tunisia." Tunisialive reported.
The goal of the alliance is achieve more "balance" in the political scene, and in the upcoming elections the "Alliance for Tunisia" will endorse a single presidential candidate and parliamentary list.
The official formation of the "Alliance for Tunisia" comes two days after Nidaa Tounes held a political rally in which the party founder Beji Caid Essebsi gave a caustic assessment of the current leadership in power and the political environment in Tunisia.
