Tunisia celebrates World Theatre day

The fourth art was honoured,on March 27, 2012, in Tunisia, on the occasion of the celebration of World Theatre Day.Several events are being organized from 27 - 30 March in addition to the presentation of theatrical events in Tunisia and France.

On the occasion of World Theatre Day, artists from the Tunisian Association of Graduates of the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts organized an event on Habib Bourguiba Avenue, in front of the Municipal Theatre, entitled “the People demand theatre.”   Some displayed posters saying “give me theatre, and I give you a great people”and“Art is one form of resistance.”

This event coincided with a demonstration staged by the salafists who threw eggs and bottles at the at the artists and prevented them leaving the theatre until they were rescued by the police.

The El Teatro space offered a play "The voting booth,"  arranged by by Azara and Naoufel Gdiri Moez, dramatic and artistic director Taoufik Jebeli. This production includes several actors including Sonia Ben Jemaa, Leila Yousfi, Ghassan Hafsia, Ammar Ltifi, Yousr Galali, and Akrem Lassoued Souheib Oueslati. This piece attempted to dissect the various relationships that may have the citizen or the citizen against citizen in this new space Tunisia.

On the other hand, the fourth art is also celebrating World Theatre Day by offering the public from March 27 to 31,various representations and meetings at the National Theatre. The inaugural program includes the reading of the Declaration World Theatre and a lecture by Massoud Mohamed Driss on "The National Theatre."

Among the planned theatrical creations in this space is also "Hokka Fi" (In a box) by Ghazi Frini.

A meeting with the theme "The National Theatre, expectations and concerns" and an exhibition "you know what I saw"  at the Dramatic Arts Centre and scenic Western Cape is scheduled, Wednesday, March 28 while a debate on "The National Theatre and Dramatic Arts Centers" will be held on Thursday, March 29.

As well as "What's on at the fourth space art", the piece also included "a Crescent and a Star" of the Dramatic Arts Centre  and stage of Kef (March 30) and "El Laylet Ghafla" (Night of surprises) Moez Achouri. As part of the Festival "Tunis made  his comedy," will be presented March 28 at the Tunis Municipal Theatre, the play "My stepmother and I," which portrays the  Franck  Leboeuf (former French international player), Katia Tchenko,
Christine Lemler and Nicolas Vitiello. This is a modern  comedy dialogues and hilarious situations, written by Bruno Druart and directed by Luq Hamett. The story is fueled by  conflicting relations between a son and his stepmother by having to live through the characters.
