Tunisia : 'Start-up Factory' to support young ICTs developers

Telephone operator Tunisiana has launched a programme called "Start-up Factory" to support young developers in the creation of innovative small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the information and communication technologies (ICTs), Director-General Kenneth Campbell announced, in a meeting with the press in Tunis.

This is one of the projects supported by Silatech the organisation which seeks to promote youth employment and its chairperson  of the  board of Trustees is Sheikha Moza bint Nasser of Qatar. Its local investment partner is Tuninvest
 
As a corporate citizen, 'Tunisiana' wants to be an active partner in the national strategy for economic recovery and offers, therefore, a pioneering program called "StartUp Factory."
 

TheStartUp Factory was launched at  the El Ghazala Technological Pole that the program was launched on 19
October 2012.The ICT sector as an area of ​​future and growth potential which must support the national economy. Tunisia has adopted a policy oriented development  to  fight against unemployment in particular through the promotion of entrepreneurship. This program, which is based on a fund of 2.5 million dinars, is set up to help young entrepreneurs realise their project as an innovative process that integrates both coaching, incubation and financing of projects. The objective of this program is not limited to the ad hoc creation of enterprises, but its ability to generate jobs in the short and long term. By the end of 2013, the goal of "StartUpFactory" is to create 15 perfectly viable startups. In order to participate in the selection phase, it is sufficient that candidates submit their dossier on www.startupfactory.tn
