Toulouse: Schizophrenic hostage taker claims to be Al Quaeda.
In a city still in shock after the Mohamed Merah incident in March an armed youngman held up a bank branch in the centre of the city close to where Merah died. He was confronted by police security forces and shot after a tense stand off.

A hostage situation took place on Wednesday, in a bank in the centre of Toulouse on Camille Pujol Avenue. The hostage takerclaimed to be from Al Qaeda.He enterred the bank at 10 am and demanded money and fired a shot taking hostages.
The elite police officers stormed and freed , the last two hostages unharmed on Wednesday,in a bank in Toulouse .It said act out of religious conviction, near where Mohamed Merah was killed by the raid three months earlier.
The hostage-taker, a schizophrenic 26-year according to sources familiar with the matter, was shot and wounded in the abdomen in the attack with three shots. He was treated on site before being transported to hospital. We ignore the seriousness of his condition.
The freed hostages were freed and no police officers were injured. He claimed to be acting from relgious conviction but it was later confirmed that he was a schizophrenic
