Theatrical Representation
The Cervantes Institute Marrakch, in collaboration with the Spanish Embassy in Rabat, has inspired a play Blood Wedding (Bodas de sangre) by Federico García Lorca, Thursday, March 21, 2013, at 7:00 p.m.,at the Dar Attakafa theatre, Marrakesh.

The play, written by Pati Teatro Obrego Domenech, looks like a monologue in which the actress María Vidal gives body and life to the lorcian characters and the poet himself.

Cientos of pájaros you impiden andar, part of the visceral confrontation between the converted values rigid laws and useless  bloody struggle which fights to preserve a piece of individual freedom. Delegitimise violence and its use as poetic license is the basis of this reflection.

In this interdisciplinary performance which combines singing, Flamenco dancing, acting and video projections, three  tragic stories intertwine . One of the protagonists of the story that inspired Lorca in 1928, the mother, the moon and the  lorcian bride  drama, and of Federico himself as a major player in a drama that ends in obscene and absurd death.

María Vidal and Pati Domenech have for twenty years played parts resolutely committed against violence, they offer us an innovative approach to one of the major works of Federico García Lorca, not to be missed.Admission is free.
