The snake tongue of Ansar Dine

Mardi 13 Novembre 2012

The terrorist organization Ansar Dine in Mali, led by Iyad Ag alienated Aghali was received with pomp in Algiers and Ouagadougou in early Novemberfornegotiations. All Malians were furious to see that their neighbors are engaged in an inappropriate process, which clashes with subregional, regional and international positions.
The snake tongue of Ansar Dine
Chahana Takiou in an editorial for the newspaper 22 Septembre accuses Blaise Compaoré  and Abdelaziz Bouteflika of working to derail or at least delay the military intervention in Northern Mali.

He notes that  in Ougadougou ,Ansar Dine said it rejected all forms of extremism and terrorism and has even committed to the fight against transnational organized crime. it also appealed to all armed movements for a cessation of hostilities. Ansar Dine then expressed "its readiness to immediately engage in a process of political dialogue with the transitional authorities in Mali."

However he contrasts this with . The statement of Mohamed Ag Aharib, Ansar Dine spokesman in Algiers : "AQIM (Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb) is composed of Muslims like us. Ask us to fight other Muslims - it` s not in our ethics. " reported  last Friday in the weekend edition of Al-Watan. He believed "we can` take AQIM or Mujao (the other two movements occupying northern Mali), without affecting the populations." How will they distinguish a terrorist from an ordinary citizen? Mr Takio asks.He calls Ansar Dine a  criminal terrorist organisation and sees itas no different from AQIM and Mujao.Iyad Ag Aghali and men are not trustworthy, he asserts, they never kept their promises and excel in double speak.

He calls on President Blaise Compaoré  to recognise that Ansar Dine is not a credible or serious organisation but is rather a terrorist group . This is evident he says fromthe contradictory statements in Ouagadougou where Ansar Dine says it will disassociate itself from AQIM and Mujao, but in Algiers it affirms that it cannot fight fellow muslims as it is against their ethics. Iyad Ag Aghali, the leader of Ansar Deen,  installed  MUJAO and  AQIM  in Gao and Timbuktu. He can not separate  from these two allied terrorist organizations. They are all three the same and must be tackled together,Mr Takio affirms.

To destroy MUJAO and AQIM, leaving Ansar Dine  to survive would be to plan another resurgence, involving  terrorism, arms trafficking, drugs and European hostages in a lawless zone,Mr Takio concludes.
