"The United States is for a mutually acceptable solution to the Sahara issue" -Hillary Clinton

Taib Fassi Fihri, adviser to His Majesty the King, received the US Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton on Sunday in Rabat.
On this occasion, Mr. Fassi Fihri met with the U.S.Secretary of State, who was accompanied by Deputy Secretary of State for the Near East, Jeffrey Feltman and U.S. Ambassador in Rabat, Samuel Kaplan, MAP reported 

On Saturday night she arrived in Rabat as part of a visit to Morocco, Clinton met with Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mr Saad El Dine Otmani. During the meeting, both parties reviewed the various aspects of bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on regional  views on international issues of common interest.

The United States of America supports efforts to find a mutually acceptable solution to the Sahara issue,the U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said in Rabat on Sunday.

Speaking at a press briefing,she also described the  autonomy initiative as serious, realistic and credible, noting that this initiative is likely to allow the Sahrawis to satisfy their aspirations to run own affairs.

Morocco and the United States agreed to the establishment of a mechanism of regular political consultations to further  strengthen their cooperation, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Saad El Dine Otmani said on Sunday in Rabat.

The US Secretary of State left Rabat for home on Sunday after a democracy-boosting tour of the Maghreb.
