Study: Low representation of women in senior positions of responsibility in Morocco
The representation of women in governance bodies of large public and private companies remains low, barely exceeding 7%.

This is what a study concluded on the occasion of the holding of the first conference on " Female Governance ", organised by the Ministry of General Affairs and Governance in partnership with UN Women.

According to the study, less than half of the companies have at least one woman in her governing body, while noting that  there were several barriers to women's access to decision-making.

On this occasion, the PJD  Minister of General Affairs and Governance,  Mohamed Najib Boulif stressed that " female governance should be a tool to serve the quality and efficiency of the nationa enterprisel, highlighting the great importance attached by the Constitution to gender equality in all areas, since Article 19 states that the Moroccan government is working to achieve parity between men and women and provides for the creation of an authority for equality and the fight against all forms of discrimination. "

Note that one of the components on which the government of Abdelilah Benkirane is the most criticised, is the representation of women in government, since it has only one, namely Bassima Hakkaoui Minister responsible for Women's Affairs and Family, a department of the marginalised.
