Shootout with arsonists as major Misrata market burned down
The Libyan Market caught fire at around 6am last Wednesday having been doused in petrol and other flammable liquids and set alight, the Libya Herald reported. When firefighters arrived to try and extinguish the flames, they were twice fired upon by the arsonists, who fled in a white saloon car with tinted windows.

The destruction of the Libya Market has deprived local residents of one of their main sources of food and raised concerns in Misrata about a potential deterioration of the security situation, the report concluded

Misrata is where Gaddafi made his last stand and was killed, it is not the only place to suffer  because of its links to the former dictator. Most of the town was devasted and actions like the burning of the main market can only destabalise the situation for local inhabitants. Revenge attacks continue and prevent any attempts at recociliation and closure, Libya remains inan alarming state of chaos.
