Shared cultural heritage brings Morocco and Spain closer, Speaker of upper house

Madrid - Morocco and Spain, two neighboring countries linked by cooperation and partnership agreements, share a rich and important cultural and civilizational heritage that contributes to bringing the two countries closer, Mohamed Sheikh Biadillah, Speaker of the house of advisors (upper house) said on Tuesday in Madrid.

The common cultural heritage, which encompasses all artistic and literary fields, has always been the core of bilateral relations, said Biadillah at a panel on "cultural relations within the framework of shared heritage", organized on the occasion of the second Moroccan-Spanish parliamentary forum scheduled in Madrid on Monday and Tuesday.

Biadillah added that the close cultural cooperation between Rabat and Madrid contributes to protecting and enriching this heritage.

Recalling the importance given to culture in bilateral high-level meetings as a crucial tool to bring the two countries closer, he said that cooperation in this field is effective since decades now.
