Sellal promises new measures for SMEs

Revitalisation of the industry, encouraging investment, job creation, political reform, are all points in the debate in the Algerian National Parliament.
Sellal promises new measures for SMEs
"In four months there will be  a new for the upgrade of SMEs", said Prime Minister Abdelmalek Sellal Prime Minister this morning in Algiers during the presentation of his government's plan to the  National Peoples Council (NPC). These measures fall within the scope of improving the industrial sector and the creation of job positions.

Sellal insisted in his speech on the will of the government to support the development of investment and the establishment of competition between firms.

Thus, the investment will be encouraged in line with the revitalisation of the industrial sector. This development is largely dependent according to the Prime minister on the cooperation with foreign countries. "We can not suspend the 51-49 rule but we still need foreign expertise," he said.

For the revision of the constitution

On another level Sellal stressed the need to move towards the revision of the constitution in order to continue earlier political reforms for companies.

The government's plan  which is to be discussed in camera also provides for the definition of a number of rules designed to define the responsibility of everyone in the quality of public service. This is one way to combat bureaucracy and better meet citizens' expectations.

Discontent of Deputies

The government's plan does not seem to be the flavour of all members since many of them believe it is a simple reproduction of previous plans and omits several important points.

This is the case of  Ahmed Betatache , a member of FFS who believes in a press statement that "this is a list of promises more than a government plan." And add "the plan does not present a clear strategy for investment promotion. It does not take into account several issues that hinder investment whose land, corruption and bureaucracy.”

Going in the same direction, Mr.  Omar Allilat ,a member of RND says it is useless to try to promote investment as solutions to problems are not presented in this plan.
