Samir launches a new distillation unit and jet fuel facility
Samir the Saudi refiner at Mohammedia has increased its new production capacity, responding to a growing consumer market.This is a new fourth distillation unit that has been created for the refining of petroleum products, according to Samir.

Construction and operational regulatory testing and technical and safety checks on the new facility have been completed and has been operational for two days said a statement from the Saudi Refining company. The new structure is able to distill 4 million tons of oil annually, and includes a production of jet fuel Jet A1 with an annual capacity of 600,000 tons. Samir has also issued a tender to sell 70,000 metric tons of jet fuel from its Mohammedia facility, according to Asharq al-Awsat.
This increase in capacity with the new unit, will increase the overall capacity of the Mohammedia refinery to 200,000 barrels per day, or 10 million tonnes per year. This unit, Samir said cost $ 1.6 billion DH and required 32 months of work.
