Sahara : Fourth assessment of CBM meeting slated for July 2-3 in Geneva

Rabat - A Moroccan delegation will take part on July 2-3 in Geneva in the 4th Review Meeting of confidence-building measures (CBM).

The meeting, held under the auspices of the High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), will be held in the presence of delegations from Morocco, Algeria, Mauritania and the "Polisario", said a statement on Monday from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.

The meeting aims to assess two components of this humanitarian program, namely the family exchange visits and the apolitical seminars, based on the updated action plan approved in January 2012, according to the same source.

CBM fall within the UNHCR of humanitarian protection mandate for the population in the Tindouf camps in accordance with the relevant international conventions, and UNHCR practices and decisions.

The Moroccan delegation, which will be led by Nasser Bourita, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, includes Omar Hilal, Ambassador, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Morocco in Geneva, and El Arbi Mrabet Governor in charge of coordination with MINURSO, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation and the Ministry of the Interior.
