Sahara: Belgium appreciates Morocco's serious, credible efforts to reach lasting solution

 "Belgium reiterates support for the efforts of the UN Secretary General and his Special Envoy, Christopher Ross, to reach a lasting and mutually acceptable solution, and appreciate the serious and credible efforts made ??by Morocco to this end, including through the presentation of its autonomy plan," said the joint statement issued at the end of the 2nd high joint commission held in Brussels on Tuesday. Chaired by head of government, Abdelilah Benkirane, and Belgian prime minister Elio Di Rupo, the Brussels meeting comes after the first joint high commission, held in March 2007 in Marrakech.

It was crowned by the signing of several cooperation agreements in the fields of foreign affairs and cooperation, social security, women's rights, and security. The Moroccan delegation included Ministers of the Interior, Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Justice, the Minister of the Moroccan expatriate community, and the Minister of Employment and Social Affairs.
