Road accident kills 2, injures 7 in northern Morocco

Tangiers - Two people died and seven others were wounded, at different severity levels, in a traffic accident on Sunday, on the road linking the northern cities of Larache and Tétouan, security sources said on Monday.

An old woman and a child died at their arrival to the Larache provincial hospital, while three other passengers, seriously injured, were admitted into the intensive care unit. The other victims sustained minor injuries, security and medical sources said.

The accident was caused by a speedy, dangerous overtaking involving two cars and a van near the rural commune of Tnine Sidi El Yamani (Larache province), a security source added. An investigation was opened to uncover the circumstances and exact causes of this accident.
