Qatar- Qatari state-owed Qatar Telecom, recently rebranded as Ooredoo, pulled its binding offer for French Vivendi SA's 53%-stake in the Moroccan operator, leaving Abu Dhabi's Etisalat as the only player in the running for the asset, for which the French media giant is seeking at least 7.3 billion USD.
According to well-informed sources, the UAE's Etisalat, has made a higher bid and raised 8 billion dollars for this operation.
