Poultry Industry: 19 Billion Dirhams of Sales, 7.4 Billion Dirhams of Investments in 2014
Mohammedia - The poultry industry achieved 19.4 billion dirhams of sales and attracted 7.4 billion dirhams of investments in 2014, according to the National Poultry Producers Association.

At a press conference, held Friday night at Mohammedia, the association representatives pointed out that Morocco has achieved self-sufficiency in the production of white meat and is about to start export of poultry products, notably to Africa.
The sector provides some 105,000 regular jobs and 200,000 indirect jobs in the fields of distribution and marketing, they added.
Regarding the evolution of this sector, the association said that chicken meat production increased from 130,000 tons in 1995 to 456,000 tons in 2014, noting that 2011 registered a record production of approximately 460,000 tons.
However, they noted that the average per capita consumption is still low compared to other countries, such as France (23 kg/person), Saudi Arabia (40.7 kg/person) and Spain (27 kg/person).
