Poll: The EU acclaimed by Moroccans as a reliable partner

The EU hasconducted through its program "barometer of the EU neighborhood"an investigation in Morocco and in many countries of the Mediterranean neighbors, to assess its image among its neighbours.
The results were an exception in Morocco, while the image of the EU in the other countries surveyed in the region was only moderately positive, Moroccans praised their northern neighbour and called it the critical and reliable partner for Morocco.
Thus, according to the European survey, 77% more than three-quarters of the Moroccan people, have a good opinion of the EU.
The survey, whose results were published by the Information Centre for the European neighborhood, was conducted as part of a draft opinion poll in the vicinity funded by the EU.
It is based on 1,000 interviews conducted face to face in November and December 2012.
According to the survey:
75% of Moroccans believe that the EU and Morocco share enough common values to cooperate, this figure is much higher than the average in the region of the European Neighbourhood Policy Instrument (ENPI South).
75% of respondents feel that the EU support contributes significantly to the development of Morocco.
58% say that the EU has supported local populations during the Arab Spring.
68% think that the EU has brought peace and stability to the region, for the entire region of South ENPI, these figures were respectively 40, 32 and 37%.
69% of Moroccans have a positive view of the EU.
72% of them trust the EU.
86% of Moroccan respondents believe that the EU has good relations with Morocco, against an average of 54% in the ENPI South region.
