Partial cabinet reshuffle in Mauritania

Nouakchott: The Presidency of the Republic of Mauritania announced on Sunday a partial cabinet reshuffle which involved the Ministry of Communication and Relations with Parliament, as well as Social Affairs, Children and Family, on the proposal Prime Minister Moulay Mohammed Laghdaf.

Following this reorganisation, the first vice-president of the party of the Union for the Republic (UPR-power), Mohamed Yahya Ould Hormah, who held the position of Special Adviser to the President of the Republic, has been appointed Minister of Communication and Relations with Parliament, succeeding Hamdi Ould Mahjoub.

 

Aicha Fall Verges, former Inspector General of State, was appointed Minister of Social Affairs, Children and Family, instead of Moulati Bent El Mokhtar.

 

The last reshuffle in Mauritania took place on 14 April 2012, and was focused on the Ministries of Health and Housing, Urban and Spatial Planning.
