Paris Accord, Prelude of Process to Start Soon in Morocco
Rabat -Paris Accord is not an end in itself, but only a prelude of a process to start soon in Morocco, Secretary General of the 21st United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP21) Pierre-Henri Guignard said.
The primary goal of COP22, which is scheduled on November 7-18 in Marrakech, is to ensure the implementation of Paris Accord inked on December 12 by 196 countries, Guignard said in an interview published Friday by the French-speaking daily L'Economiste.
The implementation of COP21 is the responsibility of all the signatories of Paris Accord, he underlined on the sidelines of his working visit to Morocco, during which he met with Abdeladim El Haf, High Commissioner for Water and Forests (COP22 commissioner).
He said that Morocco "has organized COP21 with us", adding that his visit to the Kingdom is part of "the exchange of expertise, success and difficulties that might arise".
