PACE hails Morocco's efforts to uphold democracy and human rights
Rabat - The Rapporteur of the political affairs and democracy committee at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) Bogdan Klich lauded, on Monday in Rabat, efforts made by Morocco to uphold democracy and human rights, underlining that Morocco is a model in the southern Mediterranean in terms of partnership with the EU.

"I welcome, and I'm not the only one to do so, efforts made ??by Morocco in the field of democracy and human rights, including the adoption of a new constitution," he said during a meeting with the presidents and representatives of parliamentary groups in the House of Representatives. Klich has expressed the readiness of the Council of Europe to provide more support to Morocco in the various areas related to the implementation of the provisions of the Constitution, democracy, rule of law, gender equality and freedom of the press.
He said that the status of Morocco as a partner for democracy to the PACE provides a valuable opportunity to promote bilateral cooperation, as the Kingdom represents a model for the countries of the southern Mediterranean, and even for states of Western Europe.
