OECD foreign relations committee approves country-program with Morocco
The program, designed to reinforce and deepen cooperation between Morocco and the Paris-based organization, had already been approved last May by the OECD member-states' ministers council.

It will promote Morocco's membership to various OECD instruments, the enforcement of the organization's norms and best practices and help Morocco's various public policies reforms program move forward.

After the two parties will sign the two-year program, they will be entitled to cooperate in various fields, including joint studies, review of Morocco's national policies and exchanging information and statistics for better analyses.

Under the program, Morocco and the OECD also undertake to co-organize events and conference, participate in regional activities and promote Morocco's participation in OECD agencies and projects.

The program will facilitate Morocco's membership in the organization's legal instruments, and follow-up, appraisal and comparative studies of Morocco's political practices against the organization's norms and best practices with a view to promoting reforms and government's transparence.

It features several fields for cooperation between the two sides, including investment, public governance, territory development, fiscal affairs, education, social inclusion, employment and tourism.

Morocco is the only African and MENA country to be selected by the Organization for this type of program.
