Nouakchott hosts the 4th meeting of the 5 +5 Group parliaments
Nouakchott - The work of the fourth meeting of the Parliaments of the Member States of the 5 +5 Group will open Monday in Nouakchott.

In addition to reviewing the situation in the western Mediterranean, this meeting will focus on the contribution of member parliaments efforts to meet the challenges in the region.
The meeting "takes place in a context marked by the political changes that occurred in the Maghreb scene, which augurs a new era of political dialogue and economic cooperation," said Ali Salem Chekkaf, President of the Foreign Affairs Committee for borders, occupied areas of national defense and the House of Councillors.
Two workshops will be organised on this occasion, namely "political dialogue and regional security in the light of current challenges" and "economic and social challenges," , h Mr. Chekkaf who led the Moroccan delegation said to MAP.
The meeting, where Morocco will be represented by a delegation of the House of Representatives and councilors, was held on the eve of the 10th Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Group of dialogue in the Western Mediterranean (5 +5).
Several issues of common interest listed in the agenda of the 10th session, including the democratic process in the region, the situation in Mali and Syria, the fight against terrorism and strengthening cooperation in security and controller of the border.
Participants will examine, in addition, economic issues relating to the development of cooperation in the Euro-Mediterranean Investment Promotion, renewable energy and food security, in addition to issues related to culture and youth.
The 5 +5 Group includes, besides Morocco, Mauritania, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya (the southwest shore of the Mediterranean), as well as Spain, France, Italy, Malta and Portugal (north shore).
