Noor I, One of Best Renewable Energy Projects in the World

Ouarzazate - The solar power plant "Noor I" whose official commissioning ceremony service was chaired Thursday in Ouarzazate by HM King Mohammed VI, is one of the world's best projects in the field of renewable energies, said Mohamed Abu Abdullah Nayyan, CEO of Saudi group ACWA Power.

"This project, which is the first stage of the Noor-Ouarzazate Solar Complex, is the largest of its kind worldwide and adopts thermo-solar technology", Abu Nayyan told the press on the sidelines of the official commissioning ceremony of the first plant of the Noor-Ouarzazate solar complex (Noor I), and the official launch of the construction works of the second and third plants of this megaproject (Noor II and Noor III). 

Implemented to reduce the country's energy dependence, Noor I respects the international norms, regarding health and security, he said, pointing out that the plant heavily depends on Moroccan competences and expertise in the manufacture, operation and maintenance.

Saudi Arabia's group ACWA Power was in charge of the development and operation of the first phase of the Noor-Ouarzazate Solar Complex, (Noor I).
