Nigeria: emergency landing of RAM flight due to birds

Lagos: The birds were introduced into an engine of a Boeing RAM that had just taken off, forcing the emergency landing.

 A Royal Air Maroc Boeing aircraft by linking the  Lagos and Casablanca, was forced to turn back for an emergency landing at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, 10 minutes after takeoff.

According to Nigerian media the Nigerian Tribune, the Moroccan captain took the decision after his aircraft was attacked by a swarm of birds in flight.

The birds crashed full force against the Moroccan plane,and compelled the pilot to maneuver for emergency a return to the airport of Lagos, after authorisation has been given by the control tower.

The incident raised concerns among 126 passengers who were bound for Casablanca.

The accident happened in the early hours of yesterday Thursday, March 28,  reports the same source, the flight was postponed  untill today Friday, March 29, allowing time for technical teams on the ground to revise the equipment and Moroccan Boeign 'assess the damage caused by  the birds, if there had been any.
