New Fisheries Protocol will Preserve Morocco's Fishery Resources (European Official)

Rabat - The new fisheries protocol with the European Union (EU) will preserve Morocco's fishery resources, said head of the European Union Delegation in Rabat, ambassador Claudia Wiedey.

In a meeting with speaker of the House of Representatives, Habib El Malki, the European official stressed that the procedures for the renewal of the agriculture agreement and the fisheries protocol are being "carried out in the normal way", reviewing the progress made on the negotiations for the renewal of this agreement.

For his part, El Malki praised the excellent relations between the two parties, within the framework of the advanced status enjoyed by Morocco, adding that the House of Representatives supports this long-standing cooperation of 50 years.

The two officials also underlined the need to develop a new vision regarding future relations between Morocco and the EU, to open the way to new horizons in strategic partnership.

The meeting focused on relations between Morocco and the EU, notably the ongoing negotiations for the renewal of the agriculture agreement and the fisheries protocol.
