Nador - The city of Nador will host, on July 30-31, 2021, the first World Championship of Beach Korfball, the International Korfball Federation (IKF) announced.
"The IKF is extremely happy to announce that the first IKF World Beach Korfball Championship will be held this summer in Nador, Morocco," the federation wrote on its website.

The city of Nador has been chosen to host this international sporting event following an application submitted by the Moroccan Korfball Association and the Mediterranean Youth Association.

This event, to be held in parallel to the celebrations marking the Throne Day, will establish the city of Nador as a world crossroads for beach sports, the Moroccan Korfball Association and the Mediterranean Youth Association announced on their Facebook pages.

Korfball is a collective sport close to basketball invented in the Netherlands in 1902. It is played by two teams of eight players with four female players and four male players in each team. The objective is to throw a ball into a netless basket that is mounted on a 3.5 m high.
