Mourad Medelci on two-day visit to UK

Mr Medelci gave an address to the British parliament covering Algerian domestic affairs and international issues. The Algerian Foreign Minister addressed British Members of Parliament on Algeria’s political reforms, launched in 1991, and significant democratic gains, explaining how the two  Algerian chambers work, APS reported.
 
 Mr Medelci  reviewed  the economic and social situation in Algeria, the latest development in the Sahel, especially in Mali, the Arab-Israeli conflict and the situation in Gaza.
 
Concerning bilateral relations with Britain, Mr Medelci  described them as excellent.
 
"The Algerian-British relations are getting stronger and deeper, with new areas for investment, apart from the traditional field of hydrocarbons."
 
"Parliamentary cooperation between the two countries will strengthen with the establishment of the parliamentary friendship group," he said.
 
 
"The parliamentary cooperation between the two countries will strengthen in favor of the establishment of the parliamentary group of friendship," he added.
 
He also took the opportunity to discuss investment opportunities that present themselves to British businessmen in a growing market, highlighting the measures taken by the Algerian government to facilitate foreign investment.
 
The parliamentary experience of Algeria has attracted much interest from British parliamentarians.
 
The first day was also marked by the visit to the Institute of Strategic Studies where Medelci described the situation in Algeria, stressing that "the situation has never been as good on the economic and social development".
 
He highlighted the structural stability of Algeria highlighting the fact that "all political currents are represented both in government at the level of parliament."
 
The program of the visit of Mr. Medelci face in the opening night of the new headquarters of the Embassy of Algeria in the United Kingdom, which is located near Oxford Circus in the heart of London.
