Morocco's environment minister meets in New York Global Environment Fund President

New York - Morocco's delegate-minister for environment, Hakima El Haite, held a meeting on Thursday in New York with president of the Global Environment Fund, Naoko Ishii.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the world summit of climatic change held in New York in parallel to the 19th session of the UN general assembly.

The Moroccan official informed the GEF president on Morocco's priorities in terms of industrial depollution, air quality protection and biodiversity preservation, particularly in oases areas.

The GEF president said her organization is ready to support Morocco in its endeavors to improve air quality in urban areas and cut industrial depollution and help the Kingdom define priority projects eligible to the GEF support.

During the world summit of climatic change, El Haite presented on Monday the Moroccan national green investment plan that seeks to promote eco-friendly investments.
