Morocco's defense administration official meets British Minister for International Security Strategy

Rabat - In accordance with Royal instructions, Morocco's minister-delegate for national defense administration, Abdelatif Loudyi, met here this Monday British Minister for International Security Strategy Andrew Murrison, presently on a work-visit to Morocco.

The two officials commended the excellent long-standing ties between Morocco and the UK and the intensive cooperation actions, as well as the positive results of bilateral cooperation in defense.

The status of forces agreement (SOFA), signed on this occasion, will crown the two countries efforts to consolidate bilateral relations in the military field.

On the same day, the British official met with General de Corps, general inspector of the Royal Armed forces (FAR) and commander of the Southern Zone.

The meeting that took place upon instructions of HM the King, supreme chief and Chief of staff of the Royal Armed forces, reviewed Morocco-UK military cooperation that includes joint exercises, exchange of information and participation in various training activities, and means to deepen cooperation with the aim of promote the two armies' inter-operability.

Moroccan-British cooperation is governed by an agreement of technical military cooperation signed in 1993, followed by three specific technical arrangements.
