Morocco's HCP, ISI sign MoU to hold 61st World Statistics Congress 'Marrakech 2017'
Marrakech - Morocco's high planning commission (HCP) and the International Statistical Institute (ISI) signed, on Friday in Marrakech, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to hold the 61st World Statistics Congress (WSC) slated in 2017 in Marrakech.

The MoU was signed by the high planning commissioner Ahmed Lahlimi and chairman of the International Statistical Institute Vijayan Nair.

The WSC is the flagship conference of the International Statistical Institute and its seven associations. It will bring together members of the statistical community to present, discuss, promote and disseminate research and best practice in every field of Statistics and its applications.

The choice of Morocco to host the Congress confirms the International community's trust in the national statistics systems and in the country's commitment to producing statistical data meeting international criteria by the United Nations Statistical Commission, said Lahlimi.
