"I am planning a trip to Paris to meet my French peer, Laurent Fabius," Mezouar told MAP, noting that this visit will be an opportunity "to take stock of various aspects of bilateral cooperation, against the backdrop of particular and painful circumstances France is going through".

"This visit reflects, once again, the Kingdom of Morocco's firm and earnest will to overcome obstacles that could hamper full cooperation between the two countries".

After January 11 terrorist attack against French satirical weekly, Mezouar had traveled to Paris where he extended to French president Francois Hollande the condolences of HM King Mohammed VI and the Moroccan delegation that he was leading abstained from taking part in the solidarity rally held in Paris, due to the presence of blasphemous cartoons depicting the prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

In February 2014, Morocco announced the suspension of all agreements on judicial cooperation with France, citing failure to respect these agreements, following numerous shortcomings and deficiencies in these conventions.

The Moroccan decision was made after seven French police agents attempted to deliver a court summons to a Moroccan official at the residence of the Ambassador of Morocco in Paris, in violation of diplomatic traditions and in a provocative manner.
