Morocco's FM hosts Iftar for Arab and Muslim ambassadors

Rabat - Morocco's minister of foreign affairs and cooperation, Salaheddine Mezouar, hosted on Tuesday an iftar (fast-breaking meal) in honor of ambassadors of Arab and Muslim countries accredited in Rabat. It was an opportunity to highlight Islamic solidarity, particularly in this difficult moment, the official told reporters, noting that in addition to exchanging viewpoints, guests looked into ways to consolidate Arab unity and fight all forms of extremism.

General Director of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), Abdulaziz Othman Altwaijri, said the Iftar is a generous tradition observed by Morocco which is "reputed for its significant contributions to Islamic joint action and to the protection of the Islamic nation's interests, particularly in these difficult moments experienced by the Palestinians who are suffering from the Israeli military assaults."
 
Dean of the Arab diplomatic corps in Rabat, Iraqi ambassador, Hazem Al Youssfi, welcomed this annual tradition, and called the international community to move to protect the Palestinian unarmed people from the ongoing genocide.
