Morocco's Economy Grows 4.7% in Q4 2015

Jeudi 7 Janvier 2016

Rabat - The Moroccan economy posted a 4.7% growth in the fourth quarter of 2015, compared to 2.2% in the same period of 2014, the High Commission for Planning (HCP) said this Wednesday.

This performance is the result of a growth in agricultural value added and a moderate rate of increase in non-agricultural activities (+ 2.1%), reported HCP in its quarterly note on the country's economic situation.

It added that market services, which were driven by domestic demand, constituted the most dynamic components during the fourth quarter of 2015.

On the other hand, HCP projected a 2% increase in the Gross domestic product (GDP) in the first quarter of 2016 compared to 4.1% in the same period last year due to a downturn of agricultural activity.
