Morocco’s Agriculture Minister:There is no shortage of wheat in Morocco
“There is no shortage of wheat in Morocco "he asserted at the Department of Agriculture.

According to him, the rumours have been started by some speculators, wanting he claims,  to create a sense of panic, pushing up prices to better their stocks.

For this purpose, a  French language Moroccan newspaper reported  that the Ministry of Agriculture will launch a national survey to track speculators and stockists of wheat would be at the forefront of its policy, threatening to crack down heavily.

Moreover, media sources reported that representatives of Moroccan mills have distributed pamphlets to educate bakers on the economic use and control of flour.

Internationally, Reuters reported that Morocco was finding it impossible to find a supplier of wheat on the world market, after the U.S. refused to sell to it because of its bad season eroded by drought. Russia is also experiencing problems because of crop failure.
