"The US-Africa summit, held last August in Washington, was an occasion to highlight the strong US-Moroccan partnership as well as the role of the Kingdom as a gate of business partnerships and sustainable development projects in Africa," Pham said in an interview with MAP.

Recalling the meeting between HM King Mohammed VI and President Barack Obama in November 2013, Pham said that the meeting was followed by visits of senior US officials to Morocco including Vice Presient Joe Biden who led a US delegation to the Global Entrepreneurship Summit in Marrakech.

In 2014, the two countries signed a bilateral agreement on anti-terrorism assistance (ATA) which provides for a triangular cooperation in the fields of security training, he said.

Under the agreement, the two countries contribute to reinforcing regional capacities in fields relating to training civilian security services of partner countries in the Maghreb and Sahel regions through offering expertise in terms of crisis management, border security and investigation, Pham recalled.
