Morocco maintains its request to postpone the Orange CAN 2015 to 2016, Official
Very dangerous health reasons impose this decision mainly in relation with the serious risk of spreading the deadly Ebola epidemic, said the ministry, underlining that Morocco's decision is perfectly admissible for adjusting CAN schedule and reproducing the plan for the 2012 and 2013 editions in the years 2016 and 2017.

In fact, Morocco has always shown its resolute commitment to host this prestigious competition and its ambition to make CAN 2015 an exceptional edition. It has undertaken a huge task to prepare its candidacy and made tremendous efforts to upgrade its sports infrastructure and finalize its organizational aspects, it said.

Beyond the sports scope of this event, Morocco is keen to reaffirm its will to further its long-standing, deep relations with brotherly African countries and promote the universal values and principles of tolerance, openness, respect and solidarity shared by African peoples, the statement said.

However and due to the occurrence of a case of absolute necessity related strictly to health, namely the epidemic of Ebola virus and the disastrous and uncontrollable consequences it might have, especially in terms of human losses, Morocco made the request of postponing the CAN 2015 until 2016, on the basis of real health facts, the same source underlined.
