By combining these reforms with a policy focusing on the creation of jobs, wealth and opportunities, mainly for the most vulnerable population, Morocco could further reinforce its green growth and promote a durable development model, Gray told MAP after the WB board of directors approved, on Tuesday in Washington, the new strategic partnership framework (CPS) with Morocco for the period of 2014-2017.

Morocco took several measures to reduce its dependency on fossil fuel, promote renewable energy, whether wind or solar energy, and slash pollution, he said.

Water, a scarce and precious resource in the Kingdom, was also at the heart of strategic reforms in the sector of agriculture to reduce the overexploitation of water and stop its pollution, he added.

The official reiterated the WB's support for Morocco through the multi-sectoral program targeting key sectors as water, energy, transportation and agriculture.
