Morocco elected member of International Narcotics Control Board
Rabat - The Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) elected on Wednesday Professor Jalal Toufik as a member of the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB), for a term of 5 years.

Among the 18 countries that submitted their applications for five positions, including South Africa, Nigeria, Burundi, Ghana, Cameroon, and Togo, Morocco was the only country to be elected by 37 votes to African countries, followed by India, Thailand, Colombia, and France, according to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.

The Board, which is tasked with the implementation of the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs of 1961, has 13 members of independent experts to examine the voice and means to limit the manufacturing of narcotic drugs and regulate their the distribution in world.
