Morocco: education system does not meet "50 to 60%" of training needs

The current system does not meet "50 to 60 percent" of Morocco's training needs, which are insufficient to ensure the "launch" of the country in the process of globalisation.

This was said in Rabat on Monday by the minister of higher education, scientific research and management training, Lahcen Daoudi

 

Speaking on the occasion of the signing of the agreement for the university center of the new town of Zenata between the Ministry of Higher Education and development company Zenata ,Daoudi said that the city of Zenata will become a center excellence in the field of new technologies and training, which is currently lacking in Morocco, noting that the available supply in terms of training does not satisfy all needs.

 

He also noted that the success of the process of globalisation requires the development of scientific research, development pillar and growth.

 

For his part, the Director General of the development company Zenata, Mohammed El Amine Hajhouj said the education center project, subject to the signing of this agreement, constitutes one of the major drivers of project Zenata confirming its utility .

 

Mr. El Hajhouj noted that this project has two main objectives, namely to ensure higher education to executives about future professions related to health, urban planning, and research and development, in addition to other poles as important including logistics and sales.

 

He also recalled that the new town of Zenata, spread over an area of ​​1,830 hectares, has a strategic location in the region of Grand Casablanca, Morocco, crossing different hubs, infrastructure, road, rail, air and logistics , noting that the goal is to create a balanced city.

 

The Managing Director of CDG, Anass Houir Alami, meanwhile, stressed that the city of Zenata represents a citizens' initiative and structuring in the region and the country and is a major project nationally and internationally.
