Madrid - Morocco attended, on Wednesday in Madrid, the opening of the International Conference on Libya's stability and development.

Morocco is represented in this event by minister delegate for foreign affairs Mbarka Bouaida.
 
The Conference, which opened in the presence of head of Spanish government Mariano Rajoy, is also attended by UNSG representative for Libya, representatives of Euro-Mediterranean Countries Group "Med 7", of "5+5 Forum" and the Group of neighboring countries.
 
It is also attended by representatives of Tunisia, Mauritania, Algeria, Egypt, Niger, Chad, Sudan, France, Cyprus, Portugal, Italy, Greece, Malta, the EU, the Union for the Mediterranean (UpM), the Arab League and the UN.
 
According to the Spanish government, the meeting is aimed at promoting national dialogue and avoiding open confrontation by supporting UN efforts in this regard and backing the Libyan people's political transition.
 
In a statement on Tuesday, the Spanish foreign minister, who described as worrying the situation in Libya, hoped that the meeting will lead to concrete results, underlining the importance of greater regional involvement to find a solution to the country's political crisis.
