Morocco and Turkey Sign MoU's with Libya on Industrial Cooperation Programmes

Morocco and Libya signed  a Memorandum of Understanding on an industrial cooperation programme on Monday in Benghazi.

The agreement will open important prospects for sharing expertise in the field of competitiveness, quality control as well as enterprise’support.

Under this MoU, signed on the sidelines of the Arab-Turkish industrial cooperation forum, Morocco committed to providing  technical assistance to Libya notably in terms of improving the industrial sector’s competitiveness.

The agreement was signed by Morocco’s Minister of Industry, Trade and New Technologies Abdelkader Amara and his Libyan peer, Mahmoud Fetais. Map reported.

The  Turkish Libyan MoU was signed  during a visit by Turkish Science, Industry and Technology Minister Nihat Ergun in  Libya on the sidelines of the second edition of Turkish-Arab Industry Cooperation Conference in Benghazi. Ergun said the agreement would allow for the preparation of a strategy document and an action plan, creating financial support devices for small and medium scale enterprises as well as setting up industrial zones and technology parks.

Gaddafi's Libya was not an environment which encouraged private enterprise of any sort, so for 42 years the Libyan people apart from a chosen few, were denied the right to start or own their own businesses. Brainwashed by the false environment of "people's committees and the green book.

This initiative to share Morocco's experience gleaned from the development of its business friendlyenvironment is an example of inter maghrebian business cooperation at its best.

Turkey is proving to a catalyst for business and industrial development in the Maghreb. It has enormous experience in industrial plant and has built a thriving enconomy and export orientated industry which is ready to share its know how and added value to help develop an industrial strategy and the necessary infrastructure such as technology parks and industrial zones which Libya so badly needs.

Libya needs to diversify from a purely oil based economy. Turkey is also a crucial role model for moderate islamic government because it has proved that a moderate islamic government can lead its country to economic growth. Tunisia and Libya need this advice and guidance at this difficult time. Along with Qatar,Turkey is anindependent Eastern islamic country whose  positive influence
