The observer status within the Alliance (Colombia, Chile, Peru, Mexico) granted to Morocco during the Summit of this bloc, held Monday in the city of Cartagena, shows the importance that these countries attach to Morocco as a strategic partner and one of the emerging countries in Africa and the Arab world, said the Colombian official in a statement to MAP. The Kingdom's request has been examined by the Foreign Ministers of the four member countries of the Alliance before being submitted to the Summit of Heads of State which endorsed it, said Morales Lopez, adding that the new status will allow both parties to establish synergies to strengthen their relations especially in the economic and commercial fields.

Thanks to its geostrategic position and free trade agreements with several countries, Morocco will certainly constitute a gateway for goods and products of the Alliance countries to Arab and African markets, Morales Lopez added.
