Morocco -USFP: Ahmed Reda Chami resigns

Ahmed Reda Chami, ex-minister of commerce and industr in the government of Abbas El Fassi, submitted his resignation from the new political bureau of the Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP).

in protest against what he sees as "a confiscation of USFPs' right to select their decision-making and executive systems in accordance with the internal democracy for which they have fought for."

In his letter of resignation to to the First Secretary of the USFP, Driss Lachguar, he highlighted the targetting  and attacks against milittants within the party which, he said underminded the efforts of Mr Lachguar to achieve unity within the party.

The administrative commission of the party elected a new political bureau of the party, composed of 33 members including 11 women and marked by the absence of the established figures of the party.
