Morocco Telecom: The South Korean operator KT Corp withdraws from sale of 53% by Vivendi

Lemag: South Korean telecom operator KT was on the list of officially competing for the purchase of shares in the capital of Maroc Telecom set for sale by Vivendi.

KT Corp, South Korea Telecom Group has formalised its withdrawal from the race for the acquisition of 53% majority share in the capital of Maroc Telecom.

Contained hitherto on the list of contenders for this purchase, alongside operators Etisalat of the UAE and Qatari Ooredoo, KT Corp said that because f of ailing to agree on a plausible  price offerfor this transaction,it  withdrew its bid for this offer.

According to the French newspaper Les Echoes, KT Corp said that despite of its withdrawal from the race, it wanted to undertake in the future, a broader partnership with the Moroccan group.

According to the French group Vivendi, the firm offers for the 53% of shares in the capital of Maroc Telecom, have to be submitted by the end of April.

The choice of the recipient must be absolutely  endorsed the Moroccan State, owner of 30% stake in the telecom firm.
